🎬 After the Credits Film Club: Applications Open for Teenagers Aged 14–17
Why do some films make us laugh, others keep us in suspense, while others show us a future we fear? And what can we discover in a film if we look a little more closely—beyond just the plot?
From 11 October to 4 November, Jam Factory Art Center will host the After the Credits Film Club—an eight-session course for teenagers created by film curator and cultural manager Olia Birzul.
We will watch films, discuss them, and learn to see beyond what appears on screen. Through comedy, thrillers, science fiction, melodrama, and documentary cinema, we will explore how films reflect their time, social norms, fears, and visions of the future.
At the first session, we will watch Steven Spielberg’s iconic Jaws and learn how to analyse films and discuss what we have seen. The following sessions will include screenings, mini-lectures, discussions, and assignments between meetings.
We will also step behind the camera. During a practical workshop, participants will work in teams as screenwriters, directors, and actors: they will create their own screenplay excerpts, hold an improvised casting session, and discover how a screen story comes to life.
