Jam Factory Art Center is one of the seven institutions participating in the international performative project FACE TO FAITH, and Lviv is one of the seven cities where the events within the project will take place.
At the 1st of September began an intensive collaboration for the duration of two years among seven international theaters and festivals: ANTI – Contemporary Art Festival (Kuopio), Divadlo pod Palmovkou (Prague), תיאטרון גשר Gesher Theater (Tel Aviv), Jam Factory Art Center (Lviv), Sommerblut Kulturfestival (Cologne), Teatro Dei Venti (Modena) and Teatr Powszechny (Warsaw). FACE to FAITH is a larger scale co-operation project co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
The international performance project FACE TO FAITH discusses the importance of faith for our societies. In theater projects and conferences, the seven cultural institutions will question the identity-creating and political backgrounds, as well as the connecting or separating aspects of this human expression. For this purpose, artists, experts, and people of all kinds are invited to create new perspectives, tell unknown stories, and uncover unsolved conflicts.
The project consists of different stages: institutions’ kick-off meetings, an open call for local artists, three public conferences, theatrical production, and other events. An aim of these activities is to achieve a high public awareness of the subject of faith in our societies. As a result, all participating cultural institutions produce one of the seven performances that arise in dialogue with the local people and the cultural background of the country. After the premieres in Cologne, Kuopio, Lviv, Modena, Prague, Tel Aviv, and Warsaw, the performances go on tour to the other cities.
We are looking forward to the start of this special project. We hope that you will be part of FACE TO FAITH. We believe that you will be thrilled.
This project is co-founded by the European Union’s CreativeEurope program.
