“Confessional” by the Disposable Collective is an unconventional confession, an attempt to bring to the surface what usually happens behind the screen. To make visible the personal shame that arises, feeds on, and transforms through the gaze of another. Shame that is impossible without the other — is it mine, yours, or perhaps shared?
In their third open event, five performers enter an imaginary confessional with questions: Is there a place where I can allow myself to talk about shame without shame, and can I even allow myself to do so? Which words should I keep to myself, and which should I give away in confession? Perhaps beyond the threshold of shame, when the confessions have been spoken, one can see the vulnerable and courageous attempts of a person to be human: worthy, appropriate, deserving, needed.

I freeze when I feel shame.
I lose my flexibility, my joints crack.
An uncomfortable position — everything is sharp pain, I can’t bend.
I crawl onto the mat and begin to breathe deeply with my diaphragm.
Little by little, I stretch out the problem areas. I want to begin the confession, but it still hurts.
Already after the second asana, I feel ashamed.
