On May 13, we invite you to a screening of “Little Trouble Girls” by Slovenian director Urška Djukić.
What is the film about?
A shy 16-year-old girl joins a Catholic choir. Through it, she briefly escapes her mother’s strict supervision as the group sets off on a summer trip. During the holiday, she is surrounded by her new flirtatious friend and other girls. Their dynamic begins to shift with the arrival of a dark-eyed restorer working at a local monastery.
This is a subtle coming-of-age drama about finding one’s voice, testing boundaries, and inner transformation. Urška Djukić’s debut echoes early works by Céline Sciamma and Alice Rohrwacher, while maintaining a distinct, minimalistic, and precise style.
