The academic trio SENZA SFORZANDO

Academic music will sound again on the stage of the art center on December 22! This time, the academic trio SENZA SFORZANDO from Odesa will perform with the project “Ukrainian Women Artists with Their Weapons”.

The project was commissioned by the trio at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. These are vocal works by Carmella Tseppolenko, Hanna Kopiika, Asmati Chibalashvili, Kira Maidenberg-Todorova, Alla Zahaykevych based on poems by Oksana Zabuzhko, Lina Kostenko, Yulia Dmytrenko-Despotashvili, Valeria Zhygalina, and Iya Kiva. Each work reflects in its own way on the topics of war, history, femininity, and humanity.

The project “Ukrainian Women Artists with Their Weapons” premiered in Kyiv at KyivMusicFest and in Lviv at Contrasts in 2022.
In general, the Senza Sforzando ensemble specializes in chamber music of the XX-XXI centuries, performing works from the avant-garde to contemporary compositions. The ensemble was founded in 2001 in Odesa by pianist and conductor Oleksandr Perepelytsia.
