Music Lessons is a performance about the relationship between a mother and a daughter, exploring memory, care, upbringing, and the search for mutual understanding. Through dance, personal stories, and performative practices, it reflects on family relationships as a space where love, intimacy, conflict, and the possibility of transformation coexist.
Three women meet on stage. They dance, tell stories, dance, search for understanding, dance, learn from one another, dance, die, dance.
Among them are a real mother and daughter. Actor, director, and performer Oksana Cherkashyna performs alongside her mother Olha Cherkashyna and performer Mariia Salo. Together, they explore the dynamics of care, education, and upbringing, seeking to transform the often painful experiences of the mother–child relationship into practices of tenderness, care, and mutual recognition.
