On August 16 at 8:00 PM, Jam Factory Art Center will host DVIR — a party that has been shaping Ukraine’s independent hip-hop scene for nearly six years.
Founded in Lviv in 2020, DVIR began as a space for music, connection, and community. Over the years, it has grown into a platform for independent artists, bringing together an audience for whom hip-hop is not just a genre, but a way of dialogue, self-expression, and mutual support.
The DVIR team has consistently championed Ukraine’s underground scene, introducing emerging artists and creating opportunities for performers who rarely appear in major festival lineups. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, all net proceeds from DVIR events have been donated to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This evening will feature four representatives of today’s Ukrainian hip-hop scene:
• skalo — an experimental artist from Melitopol who blends rap with British electronic influences and is known for his high-energy live performances.
• Beshket — one of the most distinctive new voices in Ukrainian hip-hop, performing alongside a live drummer to bring an exceptional energy to his shows.
• Dovhyi Pes — founder of DVIR, member of the group Tsina Rytmu, and one of the key figures of Ukraine’s underground rap scene. During the concert, he will present material from his new EP.
• Zombo — a Lviv-based hip-hop artist and member of the RClan and Kickit collectives, who has been part of the culture since the early 2000s and has influenced an entire generation of contemporary performers.
The evening will open with DJ HED, spinning a selection of classic 1990s hip-hop, while TR!LL!UM will take over the decks throughout the concert and close the night with a set of contemporary hip-hop.
DVIR is more than just a concert series — it is a space for meeting people, open conversation, and supporting the independent music scene.
