What makes Music Day different from a concert or a festival is its openness. Anyone who loves music can take part: amateurs and professionals, young and experienced musicians, bands, choirs, orchestras, solo performers, and even those stepping in front of an audience for the very first time.
For some, it may be their first public performance. For experienced musicians, it is an opportunity to play in a new venue and connect with a new audience. For listeners, it is a chance to freely move between the city’s diverse musical worlds.
The spirit of the celebration is created together: musicians reclaim public spaces, venues open their doors, and audiences become part of the longest musical day of the year.
The motto is simple: if you can play, go out and play. If you don’t play, bring your friends outside and listen.
