“La Chimera” is a film about a man who can hear the silence of the earth and a group of eccentrics who search the soil not only for artifacts but also for forgotten meanings. The story centers on a man who returns to a town on the coast, where he joins a gang of tomb raiders. His extraordinary gift is to sense the voids where traces of ancient civilizations are hidden.
“La Chimera” is a reflection on memory, love, spiritual emptiness, and attempts to fill it with fragments of the past.
The film was presented at the Cannes Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, New York Film Festival and Kyiv Critics’ Week in 2023, and won the award for Best Production Design and was nominated for the European Film Academy Award (2023) in the Best Actor category.
