Sofiya Moysey Quintet: Jazz Concert at Jam Factory Art Center

Sofiya Moysey is a singer who uses music to explore a woman’s journey towards healing. This journey began during the war, when the familiar world changed and imposed new rules for life.

Her music tells the story of personal growth while reflecting on universal themes: life, love, friendship, pain, maturity and home.

The Sofiya Moysey project was launched in 2025, although its first song was written back in 2022. Since then, every composition has become a distinct stage of experiencing, rethinking and gradually healing.

The first songs explore unrequited love — naive and almost childlike, yet deep and all-consuming. More recent works address codependency, losing oneself in a partner, and the inner conflict between the desire to stay and the need to leave.

This is improvisational music centred around the voice and emotional presence — fragile, honest and alive. The concert invites listeners into a space of deep reflection, where they may recognise parts of their own stories.
