ABOUT THE COURSE
This educational and practical course for teenagers aged 13–15 introduces participants to contemporary art curating and to the workings of Lviv’s art scene. Participants will explore the history of exhibitions and curatorial practice, visit art institutions and studios, and get to know the practices of artists and researchers. They will also learn the fundamentals of curatorial work, from developing a concept to writing a curatorial text and designing an exhibition layout. Previous participation in the institution’s educational programs is welcome but not required.
The course is designed for up to 12 participants who are ready to learn new things, express themselves, and not be afraid to be loud.
The practical finale will be the participants’ own exhibition at Jam Factory Art Center, which the graduates will prepare and realize together. They will define the theme and concept, select artworks, write texts, prepare a design brief for the posters, plan the installation of the exhibition, and choose materials for setting it up. The final stages will include organizing the opening, developing a public program, and leading a tour of the exhibition.
