Curator’s tour by Nikita Kadan of the exhibition “Looking into the Gaps IV”

Jam factory Art Center, Lviv, 124 B. Khmelnytskyi St. Реєстрація

We invite you to a curator-led tour of the exhibition “Looking into the Gaps IV”.

The curator’s tour is an opportunity to visit the exhibition and, at the same time, learn about its creation and the key ideas embedded in the project from curator Nikita Kadan. We will go through all the exhibition halls, discuss the works on display, and explore subtle, easily overlooked details.

“Looking into the Gaps” is an exhibition cycle that proposes a way of looking at the history and present of Ukrainian art as a space of ruptures, losses, and absences. The aim of the cycle is to speak about the process of moving through a meaningful path composed largely of obstacles, and the construction of a coherent narrative that is repeatedly interrupted. In the Lviv part of the project at Jam Factory Art Center, the focus shifts to the theme of solitude and the relationship between the “I” and the “We,” shaped by the experience of war.

Nikita Kadan is an artist and curator working with painting, drawing, and installation, often collaborating in interdisciplinary projects with architects, sociologists, and human rights activists. He is a member of the R.E.P. art group (Revolutionary Experimental Space) and one of the founders of the curatorial-activist collective Hudrada. He is a laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (2022) and was named one of the most influential figures in contemporary art by the British magazine ArtReview in 2025.
