On January 31 at 6:30 PM, we’ll watch The Zone of Interest, a film by British director Jonathan Glazer. The movie won two Academy Awards in 2024: Best International Feature Film and Best Sound.

A husband and wife build their dream home — with a cozy garden, expensive furnishings, and family evenings spent reading with their children. Only the tall fence reminds them that right next to their idyllic paradise lies a concentration camp where the husband works as the commandant.
The film will be screened in German, Polish, and Yiddish with Ukrainian subtitles. After the screening, we will have a discussion with the curator of the film program, Daria Badior.
