DISCOVER JAM FACTORY ART CENTER

Jam Factory Art Center is a contemporary art institution in Lviv that organizes exhibitions, theater, music, educational and community-oriented projects. The institution is located on the territory of the former Josef Kronik and Son spirits factory, where jams were made in Soviet times. The territory of the art center stretches between three streets – Bohdana Khmelnytskoho, Mekhanichna, and Novoznesenska, and its area is 3410 square meters.

The exhibition “Structures of Reciprocity”

The exhibition, “Structures of Reciprocity,” is based on the concept of architectural constructions in which the main elements support one another without additional reinforcements. This model serves as a metaphor for the societal structure of mutual support, which Ukrainian society painfully and intuitively rediscovered in 2014 and again in 2022.

Half-price tickets for schoolchildren, students, internally displaced persons, and senior citizens.

Historical Exhibition

The Jam Factory’s Historical Exhibition is a journey through time that unveils the history of a remarkable building and the enterprises it housed in Lviv’s former industrial suburb.

Jam Cafe in the Jam Factory Art Center is a bistro where familiar Ukrainian products are presented in new interpretations.

JAM BAR

Jam Bar is located in the tower and offers a uniquely intimate atmosphere. By the warmth of the fireplace, guests can enjoy signature cocktails inspired by the essence of wines. Each cocktail is like its own bottle, blending distinct ingredients and aromas.

Exhibition Halls

The exhibition hall, together with the exhibition halls in the basement, is located in the revitalized space of the former “Joseph Kronik and Son” factory.

These spaces are adapted for the art center’s temporary exhibitions, such as “Our Years, Our Words, Our Losses, Our Searches, Our Us,” “In the Memory of the One Who Keeps the Memory,” and “Structures of Reciprocity.”

Tower

The neo-gothic tower was built in the 1910s and has a total of four floors. The Jam Shop will be located on the first floor, and a historical exhibition about the Znesinnia district, the Kronik family and production in Soviet times will be located on the second floor. On the third floor, there will be a Jam Bar and a summer terrace with a view of the High Castle.

Auditorium

The auditorium is a space in a black cube that extends from the tower and contains a stage for concerts, lectures, and performative projects.

Novo 1

Novo 1 has sufficient space and technical support for various events: theater performances, film screenings, lectures, etc. In the basement of the space, there is a shelter, which the residents of the Pidzamche district actively use. In the Soviet period, the building was used as a warehouse for a perfume factory.

AIR Space

Air Space (artist-in-residence-space) is a multidisciplinary space that combines an art workshop for residences with a cozy courtyard for meetings and communication, located at the address 5 Mekhanichna St. Exhibitions, rehearsals, workshops, lectures, discussions, and film screenings take place here. The opening of AIR Space happened in 2020.

Jam Cafe – the art center’s café, offering European-Ukrainian cuisine with Asian accents and modern presentation.

Jam Bar – the art center’s bar, located on the third floor of an old tower with a terrace, featuring a unique intimate atmosphere. By the warm fireplace, you can enjoy signature cocktails inspired by wine.

General Information

Visitor Regulations

  1. Being in the Art Center while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. Visitors who violate the established order will be forced to leave the territory of the Art Center.
  2. During an air raid alarm, you must use the shelters of the Art Center.
  3. Commercial and private photo shoots with professional cameras on the territory must be agreed in advance at the reception of the art center or online on social networks. The cost of shooting is 500 UAH/hour or 1000 UAH/hour for wedding photo shoots. Payment can only be made online using the official payment details to support the institution’s activities.

Inclusiveness

The ground territory of the Art Center, the exhibition hall, and the cafe are accessible for wheelchair users. Unfortunately, the historical tower could not be reconstructed due to its status as an architectural monument.
