Open Call for the “How We Are Together” Project

We invite teenagers and their parents/guardians to join the art workshops “How we are together”

In times of war, we especially need mutual understanding and support in our family circle, but due to constant stress and fatigue, a feeling of growing distance appears between the closest ones. Jam Factory Art Center is starting a cycle of joint art classes for children and adults, during which family members have the opportunity to spend time together and restore a warm connection.

Through artistic practices, theater activities, and games, participants will have the opportunity to establish communication in the family, to express their feelings and experiences. We will share our experience and knowledge, and support each other.

🙋‍♀️ Workshops that will be held:

  • theatrical: vocal, physical
  • artistic: drawing, engraving, photo/video/projection documentation
  • multidisciplinary: dialogue exercises, conflict resolution
  • much more

🧩 Format:

The application is submitted by a family with a child/children aged 10-13. Participation of an adult is mandatory. The maximum number of participants from one family is 3.

The program will be held from October 11 to 30 three times a week (13 workshops in total):

  • 2 hours in the evening on weekdays (Tuesday and Thursday)
  • 5 hours on a weekend (Saturday and one Sunday – October 30), mid-day

Workshops will take place in the space of Jam Factory Art Center at the address of Mekhanichna st. 5, there is a bomb shelter in the building.

The workshops are conducted by the artist Yuliya Kostereva, the artist Yuriy Kruchak (NGO “OpenPlace”), the playwright Iryna Garets, the theater director Nina Khyzhna.

Curators of the project: Bozhena Pelenska, Anna Gaidai, Lyuba Ilnytska.

Project manager: Sofia Korotkevych.

The project is implemented within the international platform Magic Carpets which is co-founded by the Creative Europe program.
