The Berlin-based ethno-jazz band LELÉKA will perform at Jam Factory Art Center. Known for their unique blend of ancient Ukrainian folk songs and contemporary jazz, the quartet has earned a prominent place on the European jazz scene.
TicketsLELÉKA has been creating their distinctive sound for nearly a decade. The band has received numerous prestigious European music awards and has toured in Germany, Sweden, Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and beyond.
In Ukraine, they are widely recognized for the soundtrack “Zozulja,” which they composed for the historical TV series “And There Will Be People.” Over the years, LELÉKA has released five albums.
Founded by Ukrainian singer and composer Victoria Leléka in Berlin in spring 2016, the group quickly garnered international acclaim.
Awards and honors include:
– 1st place at the European Jazz Award Burghausen 2018
– 1st place at the Creole Global Music Contest 2017
– 2nd place at the Munich Jazz Prize 2019
In 2022, they were nominated as “Band of the Year” by the Deutscher Jazzpreis (German Jazz Prize) and featured in Ralph Dombrowski’s book “111 Reasons to Love Jazz.”
