March 1 | 19:00
Jam Factory Art Center (Auditorium)

On March 1, Jam Factory Art Center will host a heartfelt and profound jazz concert by the Viktor Pavelko Quintet with the program “Internal Anxiety”.

Tickets

Viktor Pavelko is a renowned Ukrainian jazz saxophonist and composer. He has performed at jazz festivals across Ukraine and Europe and collaborated with projects such as DeepTone Project, Kyiv Big Band, Dennis Adu Big Band, and many others. He was named “Best Tenor Saxophonist of 2009” by Do#Dj.

The program “Internal Anxiety” features contemporary Ukrainian jazz composed by tenor saxophonist and composer Viktor Pavelko. It reflects the experiences of Ukrainians at the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the emotional state shaped by months of trials and uncertainty. These are musical stories about peaceful life, evacuation, occupation, Ukrainian children, faith in victory, and hope for freedom and peace.

The music organically blends the warm American sound of the saxophone with impressionistic, contemporary European jazz. The transparency of harmony and the density of texture—created through unisons of saxophone, trumpet, and piano—give the compositions a fresh sound and convey the complex emotional landscape of our time.

Line-up:

● Viktor Pavelko — saxophone
● Yaroslav Kazmirchuk — trumpet, flugelhorn
● Oleksandr Malyshev — piano
● Kostiantyn Ionenko — double bass
● Artur Frolov — drums
