Artist Talk by Mykhaylo Palinchak Visual Storytelling in Times of Conflict

Mykhaylo will explore various visual practices in creating narratives, series and projects that address themes difficult to convey through a classical photographic approach. The talk will include a discussion of the artist’s personal projects as well as international examples.

Mykhaylo Palinchak is an independent Ukrainian documentary and street photographer, a member of UPHA (since 2012) and UAPP (since 2014). From 2014 to 2019, he served as the official photographer of the President of Ukraine. He is the founder of Untitled magazine and co-founder of Ukrainian Street Photography. Since 2022, he has been a member of PEN Ukraine. He is the author of the photobooks Anamnesis (2020) and Maidan Faces (2020). His works can be found in museums and private collections.
