Program Director and Curator of Visual Arts: New roles at Jam Factory

We are happy to share the news about important changes in the Jam Factory Art Center team!

Ilona Demchenko becomes the new Program Director of our Art Center, and also we are introducing the position of Visual Arts Curator, which will be held by Asia Tsisar.

Ilona Demchenko  has over 15 years of experience in the culture and art field, implementing influential projects in Ukraine and Europe. She has worked at the Goethe-Institut Ukraine and House of Europe, participated in numerous art initiatives and was the producer of the Ukrainian national pavilion at this year’s Venice Architecture Biennale. In 2024, Ilona co-curated the exhibition “Structures of Reciprocity” at Jam Factory Art Center.

“It’s a great honor and joy for me to join the art center team!” shares Ilona.

Asia Tsisar is a Ukrainian curator, writer and researcher working within the Central and Eastern European cultural environment. She specializes in creative writing, art research, archives, memory and narrative construction through the stories of marginalized communities.

“It is important for me to contribute to the development of Jam Factory as a supporting structure in the local and international artistic process, to create opportunities for a dialogue of different communities and experiences,” says Asia.

We sincerely welcome our new colleagues and wish them success in all their endeavors!
