On July 20 at 7:00 PM, Jam Factory Art Center will host the presentation of its very first jazz vinyl record — “Live at Jam Factory Art Center.”
A world-class jazz trio – Liudas Mockūnas (Lithuania), Arnas Mikalkėnas (Lithuania), and Mark Tokar (Ukraine) – will return to Jam Factory to present the vinyl recorded during their unique live improvisation concert in April 2024. The launch will be accompanied by live concert by the same ensemble.
TicketsThe musicians:
- Liudas Mockūnas — Lithuanian clarinetist and saxophonist, performer of avant-garde jazz and contemporary classical music.
- Arnas Mikalkėnas — Lithuanian pianist, percussionist, composer, leader, educator, and the driving force behind many projects dedicated to non-commercial music.
- Mark Tokar — a double bassist who became the first Ukrainian to perform at the prestigious Chicago Jazz Festival; officer of Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Both Lithuanian musicians have also initiated a new program for master’s students at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, focused on improvisational and experimental music and performance.
This will be a double occasion — the release of the record and another memorable live concert by the trio whose music has already become part of Jam Factory’s sonic history.
