The program begins with a lecture-discussion that will help you understand what modular synthesis is, seamlessly transitioning into a deep live performance by Igor Yalivec, a composer and sound artist from Dnipro who has been working with modular synthesizers and generative music for over 20 years, balancing between dreamy ambient and minimalism.

About the participants:
Igor Yalivec — composer and sound artist from Dnipro, who has been working with modular synthesizers and generative music for more than 20 years, exploring the borderland between ambient and minimalism. He is an instrument inventor, synth enthusiast, founder of the cult drum’n’bass band Submatukana and the ambient-jazz duo Gamardah Fungus.
Since the late 2010s, Ihor has been actively using and promoting modular synthesizers, giving lectures and discussions about them, as well as performing solo concerts based on music created with modulars. He is currently finishing work on a new solo album of modular music, with material first presented at this year’s Strichka Festival in Kyiv, and now to be performed in Lviv.
Michael Balog aka MANU — Ukrainian musician, saxophonist, founder of Vedel School. Known for his experimental projects that transcend genres and formats.
