Following the “Oscar weekend”, we are screening the legendary Oscar-winning film “Parasites” directed by Pong Joon-ho at Jam Factory Art Center.
The family of four unemployed people has bleak life prospects. The situation changes when the eldest son is offered a high-paying part-time job as a tutor. With the help of his sister, he makes fake educational documents and arrives at the luxurious estate of a wealthy businessman. After making a good impression, the eldest son learns about another job opening, and he comes up with an unusual plan to get his sister a job.
The South Korean drama is the winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture, Director, Original Screenplay and Best International Film, Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film, 2019. The film also won the Palme d’Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.
