Jam Factory Art Center is opening applications for the Call for Independent Curatorial Research Projects, aimed at supporting original research projects in the field of contemporary Ukrainian art. The call seeks to enhance the visibility of non-institutional research initiatives, support independent curatorial practice, and promote the development of exhibition projects that critically reconsider important issues in Ukraine’s artistic and sociopolitical processes. One project will be selected through the call and presented as an exhibition at the Jam Factory Art Center from May to August 2026.
The call aims to:
- Support original curatorial research projects that are in the final stages of development
- Contribute to the sustainable development of independent curatorial and artistic research practice
- Stimulate the emergence of new voices, topics, and approaches in the discourse on contemporary Ukrainian art
- Highlight under-researched, marginalized, or forgotten phenomena, communities, and figures that are important for a comprehensive understanding of Ukraine’s cultural field
The winner will work on the implementation of the exhibition in collaboration with the Jam Factory Art Center team and will receive:
- Fees for curators, artists, and the core project team
- Production and technical implementation of the exhibition
- Organizational support and coordination
- Communications support, including PR and project promotion
The following are invited to participate:
- Independent curators
- Institutional curators working on an original non-institutional project
- Artists working with artistic research practice
- Individual participants or collectives
Applicants who are professionally involved in the art scene in Ukraine, regardless of citizenship and place of residence, are eligible to apply.
To apply, you must submit the following materials:
- Completed application form
- Completed project budget, using the provided form
- CV of the main participants
- Summary of the research project (up to 10,000 characters)
- Brief description of the exhibition based on the research conducted, indicating the structure, concept, and exhibition materials (up to 5,000 characters), and links to relevant visual materials
