Screening of the Animated Film Flow: The Last Cat on Earth, dir. Gints Zilbalodis

December 17 2025 | 18:30
Lviv, 124 B. Khmelnytskoho Street Квитки

In a world where animals now rule the ruins of human civilization, a cat finds a safe refuge in an old cabin in the middle of the forest. A sudden, heavy flood forces him to set out for survival on a small sailboat, accompanied by several animal companions: a friendly Labrador retriever, a lazy capybara, a kleptomaniac lemur, and a secretary bird. To survive and find a new home, the cat must overcome his fear of water and build a united team with his new friends.

The main character is an ordinary cat who, without human language, expresses emotions through gestures and glances. His struggle for life, fears, and hopes are understandable to every viewer. Flow is not just a story about survival, but a meditative journey that invites reflection on loneliness, friendship, and the resilience of the spirit. Will the cat find a new home? Does any land still exist? The answers lie in the waves that carry him forward.

The film won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
It is created without words—using only music and animal sounds—to convey the characters’ personalities, emotions, and relationships through visual and audio details. The story explores themes of friendship, courage, teamwork, and the search for a home in a changed world.
